I'm so happy to be reading this now. Last night's conversation adds extra insight into your words.

I too am drawn to the wheel of the year to track the passage of time. I crave the sense of moving through time in a way that takes in the bigger picture of time, experienced collectively. Ancestors kept track of seasons out of necessity. They understood what needed to be done based on natural resources. They also understood and honored the fact that community was a vital component. I love the way the Celts saw seasons as transitions from one season into the next. There is no moment when arrive an exact season or time. Wherever we are, it is a space of leaving a place we have been and moving towards what comes next, a continual cycle of death and birth every moment we are in.

We talked about a longing for being in community in a slightly altered reality, and yet still shared experience, where ritual and medicine live.

We have collectively forgotten how to celebrate and honor transitions. One or two drinks to commemorate a wedding or death turns into a sloppy mess and we blow past the moment of medicine in sharing a life transition celebration.

We are (I am) more comfortable living in the wounds of our past, or fantasies of the future, to notice the magic and medicine of this moment.

We lack the shamans and elders who remember the rituals that connect us to Earth, life events, and each other.

My guiding word for 2024 may be community, specifically focusing on the medicine of community. How can the people I choose to be with help me create and celebrate THIS moment.

I so appreciate being in community with you Julie and our Coastal Crones group, working to bring back the medicine and magic needing to be recreated.

I love the prompt about what blessings you'd like to offer. I've been thinking about this, as I got an exciting idea the other night that I'm exploring to see how I can make it happen.

I love this Julie and I am melting into your words to be come into stillness and reflect on all that has passed. So much I have learnt and am still learning, but now with a renewed sense of being in the company others that understand it the same. The version of me that goes into next year is oh so different, but also more like me than I've ever been. What magic I will weave going forward with a new determination and strength. Thank you for your ever guiding light and strength. Love Louise x

What a beautiful entry, I resonated with it deeply ✨

• What are you considering as this year comes to a close?

I have been focused on my self-healing and self- love now more than ever. Gazing into the skies and introspectively reassessing who I am and what I want out of this life.

• What are you wishing and hoping for in the new year?

I hope for growth, illumination, wholeness with myself and all remnants of my beings from the creation of the Universe ✨ until present day(s to come)

• What blessings would you like to offer?

I hope for world peace, I pray for Unity across divides, may everyone find wholeness with their individuality as well as connection with their entirety across this non-linear Universe we live in.

One✨

I love this, Julie! Time has been on my mind a lot lately too, thinking about the ways we perceive it and the ways the ancestors did. I see the present moment as a container where the past and future pour in, so the way we perceive it has within it the potential to be ever expanding. But then, holding that perspective can make it hard for me to get to meetings on time, etc. Lol. An interesting dynamic for sure. I loved your review of inspiration too! I can't wait to find out what you're guided to focus on for 2024. ♥️

I go by the Celtic Wheel of the Year, each season gently flowing and transitioning into the other. It makes sense to me but with our more accepted and “traditional “ calendar I can’t ignore the holidays that are set into place with the New Year being on January 1st instead of being marked at Samhain. I don’t do resolutions at all but instead will offer Blessings to those I know and love and to those I don’t know but sense the need for healing of body and soul that they are surrounded and supported with love, healing and light going into the New Year. 💜
