My dear one, I was thinking of you as I opened up circle last night for my Samhain ritual. Two thresholds...one for the fey one for our ancestors. One for new life, one for going in and honouring the dark, the inner, the old.

Gateways. Thresholds. Liminal spaces. The mid point...for me between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, for you between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. For the moment in time we can step in the middle and feel the midpoint of something greater and something more real.

For that moment in time we can step beyond and open our hearts to something greater, something more magical, something more...ahhh, and then take that something more into our lives for the next few months ahead.

I so appreciate sharing this time with you Julie, even though we are sharing the opposite...in it it feels like a balance. Much much love 🙏

I am with you Sam! Feeling this balance as well. As I was writing about the veils being thin at this time, I thought about you. I love that you responded to that part! You with the darkness getting darker, me with the light getting lighter. You with dissolving, withering and moving inward, me with the birthing, growing and moving outward. You approaching winter, me summer. Balance!

And even in the midst of these outer expressions of nature and life, we also have our inner seasons as well. Even though I feel like a faerie right now, on a magical ride through natures creativity, I am also experiencing a deep dive inside, into this incredible black abyss of the divine feminine. Like reentering the womb again. All I can say at this point, I am still be carried in it. I feel uncertainty and disorientation, yet really grounded in knowing I am right where I need to be.

Much love to you too Sam, and may the energies of Samhain take you on a powerful journey.

I love this look at Beltaine, Julie! 💖 I'm just barely getting my altar created to celebrate this evening. Your altar is gorgeous and such an inspiration. I love when you share pics of these sacred spaces. I also love the idea that at Samhain the veil thins between us and the dead and at Beltaine is when the veil thins between us and the fairy world. We always keep track of our first hummingbird sightings each year. The scouts arrive late April and then all the rest seem to come at once on May 1, filling our back patio (and our hearts) with utter delight. I think of corvids (crows, ravens, etc) as the birds that fly between the living and the dead; and hummingbirds as the birds that fly between our world and the fairyworld.

Thanks Jenna! And I love what you have said here about the birds, I never thought of it that way. I did with the corvids, but yes definitely to the hummingbirds! That totally changed how I will see them from now on, flying between our world and the world of the fae. I felt that way about butterflies, so wonderful to know these amazing birds this way as well. And Beltaine blessings to you, may the fires in your heart burn brightly.

Thank you so much Julie for this post, I love the way you lead us towards Beltaine energy with enthusiasm and embodied pleasure. While reading you I could feel the awakening of my desire for life and joy. Tomorrow morning I will spent dawn in a liminal place between the sea shore and the forest, where Sea birds and forest birds tangle their songs together. I hope I'll hear the fairies in the middle of all these wild and old voices 🌟🌟🌟 For a week I have been bathing in their healing energy and I feel so much better now 🙏🌬🌊🌿🌸🪶

I wish you a wonderful, sensual, joyful and magic Beltane !

Sandrine so wonderful to hear from you here! And I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better, bathing in nature and faerie energies will do it! By the time I have responded, you might have already had your liminal journey. Ahhh the sea shore and the forest. That is a special one. I remember being in Denmark on a forest trail that went alongside the coast. Powerful to be in the trees with the ocean as this incredible presence. Also on Hawaii, the same. Many blessings to you Sandrine! And may your Beltaine be full of healing, faerie magic and sensual discoveries.

Hey Louise! Where I live the climate is more moderate, spring is already in full swing. I know the UK has had quite a bit of rain this year. More than most. Wonderful that you "can feel the shoots sprouting and the slow awakening of creativity emerging." The energy is palpable isn't it? I feel bathed and washed by it. Louise may you too be washed in the grace of this season, held by the mother. May you be rooted in the ground while rising up, moved by the the glory of the creative force in you.
