Oooh, this is fabulous, Julie! Dreamwork is one of the biggest parts of my practice. In fact, I tend to believe the dream world is more real than "here". I love the messages from your ancestors! I find that the messages I get in dreams are almost inexplicably perfect. Like, at first they don't quite make sense but the longer I sit with them and do research, and revisit dreams etc, the more alive the message becomes. It contains wisdom on so many different levels. And there's usually word play involved too. It's like nothing my mind could've manufactured. Thank you so much for this exploration! I'm going to try making a dream bag.
Jenna, how wonderful! I love that you do dreamwork too! Being that we both work with archetypes and the tarot, it makes sense to be with our dreams. They are oracular after all! And personally tailored! And I would love to hear about what comes to you from using a dream bag. I have done it twice now, and both times brought significant dreams. May it do the same for you and more!
Julie, I love this synchronicity - I was just in an amazing class called Your Story Matters, with Kristin Lang! It bums me out though that I rarely remember my dreams.
Also, I cannot tell you enough how much I love the messages you received of Plant Seeds, Slow Down, Tell Stories. This is soooo beautiful!!!💃🧚♀️🤸♀️💖🕊🌷☀️🌈🌺🪷🌟✨💕
Wow that is a synchronicity! I love the title of the class, especially since one of my messages is Tell Stories! And thanks Camilla, these were very powerful messages. It is actually the first time I have shared them. I have been sitting with them and contemplating them for the past five months or so. They have become very dear to my heart!
Julie, thank you for this beautiful piece of writing and for sharing the messages your dreams gave you...
I have been dreaming a lot lately, and then when I wake something of the dream manifests in to the physical realm that day. I feel that I am more in alignment at the moment than I have been in a long time, and this makes me feel so grounded.
Thanks Sam! Yes dreams are powerful! I agree! The night before I shared this post I had a dream that I am still unpacking. It had lots of water and sea turtles. One part the ocean waters were rough but these two huge turtles (honu) gave themselves to the waves and then let the tides bring them back to deeper waters. Such grace and surrender. What a powerful lesson.
I love that some part of what you dream shows up in the physical. Reminds me how connected it all is. May your dreaming continue to bring you deeper connection. Embedded and rooted into life.
I've been working on lucid dreaming (though lately my sleep has been consistently interrupted at exactly the wrong time, so I haven't been able to do it very much yet) and have been recording my dreams each night. I dream a lot about being back in school lol.
OMG do I remember the school dreams. I don't get them that much anymore, but they still come a visiting! The late paper and I can't get to class on time for all the many ridiculous reasons, were common themes. Oh one more, I can't seem to get the right amount of credits to graduate. They seemed so real at the time, I would wake up and as I came to my senses I would sigh in relief that it was only a dream. What are you school dreams like?
I have not tried lucid dreaming yet. Has it ever worked for you?
Mine are often just about me being uncomfortable/different - I think I'm still processing my late-diagnosed neurodivergence and how that affected my school experience. Otherwise they tend to be about somehow getting on the wrong bus and ending up at the wrong location.
I have managed to lucid dream a few times! I need the chance to practice stabilizing the dream better, because I have thus far ended up waking up pretty quickly after becoming lucid, but it's such a cool experience!
Love this newsletter and the chance to share about how magical and interesting dreams are!
Last night, part of my dream I saw a dead eagle, sprawled out with its wings. There was one single feather apart from it, and it lifted itself off the ground and presented itself to me with a glimmering light.
Felt like a gift from a beautiful Eagle guide, whom had come into support me while doing some healing work during a client session yesterday. Was magical and profound 🤍
Christine, what a powerful and special dream. If it was my dream it would be a gift of sight, an acknowledgement of deeper vision! Birds of prey hold a lot of significance in my life. Eagles like many birds of prey are well known for their visual acuity. And are able to see things even from far away. I agree magical and profound. I am curious, what do eagles mean to you?
Yes! the deepening of sight and clarity from Eagle is definitely how I read its guidance. As well as a journey towards new horizons, allowing for more truth and perspective to be revealed 💕
Its such a fascinating topic Julie. Sometimes I have such vivid dreams that are very healing, but can also be terrifying! Lots of them feature animals, tigers, sharks, squids bears are the ones I can remember. I love the idea of receiving messages from my ancestors, but I am far to focused on trying to get some sleep, so I could probably do with some help with that!
Yes there is a time for rest and deep sleep, and then for sleep and dreams. Body first, good for it to be able to let down and regenerate. Getting the needed nourishment from sleep.
Regarding the dreams, yes some dreams can be scary, even shadowy and dark. Including nightmares. Yet even these have a message, something to share. I love that you dream about different animals. I just had one the other night about sea turtles. Animals in dreams have deep meaning, it brings in animism, the vaster truth of what we are.
May you get the needed sleep you require. Waking up refreshed, alive and reinvigorated!
Wonderful Julie! And what powerful dreams you received. Amazing! Thank you for sharing your experience with dreams and for including me in your world here. xo
Thanks Kristen, I am so happy you shared your gifts and wisdom here. I love what you shared. Especially, "I have come to understand that dreams are not just for solving the messages hidden in images and symbols; they're there to be in relationship with." That is so key! Being in relationship with. I believe that was a major shift for me when I started seeing my dreams as more than just codes to decipher or images contained only within me. The dream world reaches beyond my mind and being. It become a community of sorts, a relationship.
Thanks Chanél. And I will say I have shadow dreams too, nightmares at times. I love that you shared here that it is your intention to go deeper, to move beyond the dream dictionary. I believe this is when the wisdom of the dream world really begins to come forward in a much more meaningful way. Intention is very impactful.
I also do shadow work with my dreams. I get so much out of them when I do this. I even recently brought one forward in my dream circle and it beautifully went to a deeper level. I agree the dreams I shared here are for me very profound. And I went in with an intention to dream this way. To connect with my ancestors, to receive a spiritual/earth message.
May your dreams be full of meaning and connection, bringing to you deeper understandings of yourself and life.
That is wonderful that you remember your dreams more. What a great place to get too. You would be surprised how many have trouble with this. Be gentle and give yourself some space around this. And I have found that some dreams that look basic at first, when given some serious unpacking can be quite profound! Many blessings!
