I love the judgement card because of the art of people rising from their graves. It’s one of my favorites, a reawakening. Thank you for incorporating the different traditions and astrology, the blessing. Beautiful and informative.

Thanks so much! Yes a reawakening! A wake-up call that reminds us to follow the inner longings and callings of our heart and soul. Truly is the power of this card's message.

Oh my gosh, this is so eye-opening! Thank you! This one line in particular took my breath away: "Both speak of the importance of being attentive and responsive to the soul’s call." Yes! That's Judgment in a nutshell, isn't it? One thing I actually do really like about the RWS Judgment is the image of the trumpet/horn. For me, this brings the whole idea of resonance to the card. And I think the line of yours that I quoted above perfectly encapsulates this idea of resonance. I really love this. And thank you for the images here too...gorgeous!

Thanks Jenna. I do love writing about these archetypes. This one was a bit more challenging, as I mentioned in the post. Not a big fan of the Christian images. With that said, it really is about the soul's calling, listening to the inner prompting of life. And it truly is a "call". A wake-up call, a call that points to action, a call bringing light to moves us and is important. The call of trumpet/horn, as you said.

This is so stirring Julie and it reminds me that the call is to go deeper. To find what truly holds us back, bring it to to the surface and let it be released. Yes, it will hurt, yes it will make us cry out. In the aftermath there will be such profound peace that we will be glad we spent the fleeting moment, so that we may be free for this lifetime and many more to come.

Yes, agree! The call is to go deeper, to remember who and what we are, and to live from that. Each one of us unique in that expression, and needed as a piece of the puzzle we all are together. And... easier said than done. For me it seems like a constant invitation to meet and learn from what keeps grabbing at my attention. Or what I grab at! To let it go, to let it - let me go. It's quite the journey isn't it?

Here’s to letting ourselves be free to be who we are. I’m ready if you are Julie!

I like the way you described Judgment through another frame of reference, Aeon. The imagery of Judgment gets me a little tripped up as well. For me, Judgment is an internal process of waking up to something stirring within me. It could be a thought, feeling or internal sensation.

You said, “[Aeon] speak of the importance of being attentive and responsive to the soul’s call. In the shadow, it’s a resistance to change and an unwillingness to face unresolved issues or fears.”

I think the key here is the emphasis on soul’s calling — what does our soul need? What is our soul calling us to do even where our ego shows resistance? That’s the challenge of personal growth, right? Judgment encourages us to show up as a better version of ourselves. I call it the Wake Up! card. When the Judgment card shows up for us, it’s an opportunity to self reflect about my motivations and behaviors. Is the way I am showing up truly a reflection of who I am? Or is there a block that’s preventing me from showing up in a way that feels authentic?

Thanks for you comment here Anna! YES!!! The wake-up call. When receiving this card it's an invitation to remember who and what we really are. To "wake-up" to these deeper truths, and to see and respond to what is in the way. 💜
