Loved this. Living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge (having spent most of my life on the East Coast near the Atlantic Ocean) I wondered if I would be okay being so far from the water...well...my home is above a creek that goes into one of the longest rivers in these states, a waterfall is in the downtown area, and my favorite waterfall is not too far away. Water is important, I agree, and your post made me feel those feelings you had. Today I am awaiting the visit of Helene, currently a hurricane that has taken an unusual path and will come through our area. I went out to give gifts to the elementals of the creek...pieces of the bread I use for toast. The drizzlefall was invigorating and the air, cool and clear.

I lived in Connecticut, close to the ocean and Long Island till I was sixteen. Then my family moved to Northern CA, again close the ocean. Been in this general area ever since. Sounds beautiful where you are currently living! Can you hear the flow of the creek from your home? Sending prayers to you and for all in Helene's path. Saw some pictures last night, an example of water in its destructive and tumultuous phase. Blessings of safety, protection, care and love.

Thank you! Our power went out at 6:30 a.m. and I was doing my 'work with weather' nonstop during the worst of Helen's passage here. Flood watch alerts but the creek behind my home did not flood so the sounds were not noticable. The earth and drains absorbed the deluge. So grateful! Not everyone in my area was lucky. Some of my favorite places in the NC mountains were hit hard. But everyone I know is safe. Love Connecticut and friends and family were there. Family on Long Island. The farthest north I've been in CA is San Francisco...it is a beautiful state and hope the water element keeps you cool and safe from fires.

Glad you fared the hurricane. My parents in 1992 went through Iniki, a 4 category hurricane that went right over their home. That hurricane devastated Kauai. Took several years to clean up and get back to some point of normalcy. Harder to do all that when on a small island in the Pacific. I went there six months after the fact, Yep it was bad. So glad everyone is safe where you are!

This is so wonderful Julie. Those places are absolutely stunning, it must have been so magical. I love being by the sea, but there is also something special about waterfalls. I really must make the time to visit more sacred water sites.

Yes they are truly magical, a gift to meet these sacred waters as a being whom is mostly made from water. A deep kinship that is so incredibly inherent. Love to you Louise. ❤

Gorgeous, Julie! Thank you so much for sharing these amazing moments with water that you captured. As a desert dweller, I relish all the images of water's sacredness. I also can't believe the timeliness of this post...I've been deep with the spirit and magic of water the last two weeks. What's come through for me is that when we go to water, we are reuniting our own body of water with another body of water (that is all the same being...all water is one). And so we con offer ourselves to the water this way, to serve and steward the waters with this intention. Oh! And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could take a trip to Glastonbury together one day? 💖💖

Ohhh that sounds awesome, a trip to the Isles! I am so drawn to go there. And yes about reuniting with water. As I was editing my post I took the part out about us being 60% water. We are basically living breathing containers of water walking around on this planet. So natural to join in, reunite those inner waters with the external ones, like lakes, rivers and oceans. How cool that you have been working with the element of water lately. I love when synchronicities like this happen! ❤🙏

It’s so special that you are within visiting distance to Mt Shasta 💧 such sacred waters 💧

It is about a four hour drive to get there, which isn't too bad. That is our typical marker for spending a night at a place, rather than just making it a day trip. I am very thankful for the area I live in, there are sooo many diverse places of nature to experience. And Shasta, yep that is special! Where do you live?

My husband and I have been seasonally nomadic for the past three years. We spend our winters in the Nevada area close to South Lake Tahoe, and our summers we have been on the lower Umpqua River in OR. This year we stayed the longest (are still here!) but will be moving on soon, maybe heading into the desert for the autumn. We are from WI/IL, and have spent a lot of the past 11 years traveling, with many places that feel like home…but no place we think we want to return to, rather we are looking forward to our next favorite place to settle. We have been loving OR, and are curious about exploring the southern part of the state. I love the idea of being a half days drive to Shasta if we were to be around Ashland area or something similar.

Oh how wonderful, the nomadic life. There is a certain romanticism about it, however I am sure there are down sides, like in all things. However, if you do explore Ashland, southern Oregon is not far to Mt Shasta! Blessings on your journeys!

The Ocean...my absolute favourite place in the whole wide world!!! I am so blessed to live so close to the ocean - only a 10 minute walk. I have tried to live away, and yet I shrivel inside.

Julie, your post is so cleansing to the soul, so refreshing. So alive and so potent with magic. And your photos...the waterfalls...portals beyond portals. Thank you xxx
