Ahhh thanks Jenna. I had fun with that poem, glad you like it. May your time of Samhain be an easeful entry into the dark. May it be deep and magical, connected to your ancestors love and wisdom.

Dearest one,

this is so beautiful, so powerful, so stilling...

Samhain.

Beltainne...

the veils.

A sacred threshold that for this moment in time we both cross, stepping over and reaching out, letting go and falling inward, reaching out and coming out...ahhh sacred thresholds.

May you have a beautiful Samhain. May An Cailleach guide you through the following season in a way that is empowering, healing and beautiful and May your Ancestors bless you in extra ordinary ways.

Thanks so much Sam! Yes, An Cailleach for me, Brigid for you. Entry into the dark for me, opening to the light for you. Autumn and Spring. These amazing thresholds we enter, cross and leave. Only to enter another one! Thanks Sam for reflecting the time of Beltainne as I enter Samhain.

May your opening to Beltainne be one of wonder! Receptive to the fresh colors and the new life all around, both outer and inner. May a new song be found in your heart and may it bring you joy.

What an interesting fact about the etymology of ‘bonfire’! I also loved the statue of the woman with the star and moon over her head on your altar. It’s been awhile since I’ve done anything for the mew moon but the timing of this one in accordance with my fav holiday, día de Los muertos, I just can’t pass it up. Thank you for writing this 🧡

Thanks Vashti! Yes this new moon feels powerful. Especially that it falls over this Samhain and Día de los Muertos time feels very significant. Enjoy your journey with the new moon and with el Día de Los Muertos. These days are one of favorites times of the year! May your celebrations and explorations be nourishing. May you savor every last morsel! ❤🍁

Samhain and Scorpio season are always so dear to me. I absolutely Love the threshold that is this time of year, as a Scorpio rising 😉 and as someone who adores seasonal change and the experience of the liminal.

Julie, I’m curious if you have ever looked into the actual dates when the sun is at 15° Scorpio (and for that matter Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius.) For some years now I have been following the actual solar astrological degree for these cross-quarter days - just like we do for the solstices and equinoxes - and I feel the energies align more tangibly for me this way. I have found it curious that culturally we only approximate the mid-point sabbats, placing them around the 1-2nd of the month they fall within. But as I became interested in pausing for the actual moment to the minute for the full + new moons, solstices/equinoxes, it became a natural outcome for me to look that up for Samhain, Lughnasadh, Imbolc, and Beltane as well. Usually they are closer to the 4,5,6 I find. I enjoy this website as a guide:

Solar Samhain, as I call it, is November 6th at 4:21 pm Mountain time (where I am now in southern Utah!)

Love and Blessings to you 🍁✨

Emma this is so funny, because I too like to share the true astronomical mid point time of the Sabbat. I usually share that on these midpoint sabbat posts. I didn't this time because when I lost my computer, I lost all my bookmarks. I tried searching for the info but could not find it! The one you link here is not the same one, but it gives the info. So thanks for the link. And it is now bookmarked!

Where in southern Utah do you live? St. George? I have been to Utah so many times. I love that area, it constantly calls to me. And I love, love Zion!

Samhain blessings to you Emma, may the growing darkness be a place of rest, comfort and rejuvenation. May this liminal time and the thinning of the veil bring a deep sense of belonging and connection. To yourself, with life and the worlds. ❤🍁

Thanks Diana! Wonderful to hear from you! May this season be a time of rest and rejuvenation. A releasing of the old, making space and creating compost for new seeds. ❤🍁

I was actually thinking Julie, where was your post on Samhain! I so look forward to these great reminders of the traditions and rituals. I went out this morning and there were these beautiful cobwebs with dew on them everywhere. I was just in awe of the miracles of Mother Nature. It feels like there is magic all around at the minute. I am embracing (mostly) those death and rebirth ways.

Oh I love the cobwebs. I remember one year close to this time of year our backyard lawn was covered in cobwebs. One could go to really creepy, but I loved it! Yes to the miracles of Mother Nature, she is always creating anew, I am constantly taken in by her masterpieces! Louise, may your time of Samhain, be a time of releasing the old, making way for the new. A time for resting the body, for rejuvenation and celebrating your innate connection to life! Samhain blessings to you dear love! ❤🍁

Remarkable piece, Julie. I can't wait to sit by a bonfire before it gets too cold, surrounded by nature, and listen to "whispery breezes" bearing messages from ancestors and others who inhabit dimensions next to ours. Indeed, the membranes that "separate" us from them are very porous. Happy Halloween to you and yours! And please accept my heartfelt invitation to visit my substack, where you may just find that our visions align.

Thanks D.C.! May your Samhain be all the things you state here, warm by a bonfire, serenaded by nature. And may your heart be touched by the messages from your ancestors. And thanks for the invitation to your substack. I love your poem, Our Via Dolorosa! Exceptional!
