I love this so much, Julie! 💕💕 This first Yule retreat post has inspired me to deeply connect with The Great Mother. And then, I felt further inspired to try a new practice of spontaneous spoken poetry, to let words for The Great Mother flow out of me, instead of being written down, to let them be of air that can float to her and dissipate. Thank you, thank you for this glorious start to Yule!
Oh I love that Jenna. I do that too at times. Free flow poetry that fills the space. A creative moment that writes a love letter, an incantation on wisps of the wind.
This question resonated this morning: What do I need to release in order to allow inspiration to flow more freely? In my morning practice, I was reminded to let go of old stories that are no longer needed right here, right now. To allow these old stories to be enveloped by the dark - void of these long winter nights. I release these old stories now to symbolically make way for the new stories/patterns I wish to embody as the light returns. Also, as I write this on my deck, three playful yellow butterflies swoop about. I had a vision a few months ago of a kaleidoscope of butterflies as my ancestors. How divine to look up from typing my response and see these dancing beings in front of me. Thank you Julie for inviting into these last days of the year with intention.
Thanks for sharing this Heather! Yes, truly seeing the old stories as they are now. They once had a purpose, but currently only take up space. Just like cleaning house or emptying a closet, they are no longer needed. And when seen, can be consciously released, freeing up space for something new. I feel so content right now just reading your comment. And I see butterflies and moths as my ancestors visiting me. I love that you had a similar experience!
Really! Thanks for sharing that comment about your ancestors as butterflies and moths. Sweet sweet. I am taking myself on a little adventure to another part of the island today and will be keeping my attention attuned to the other creatures who make themselves known today.
Thanks, slowing down truly is key! I know I miss a lot of life and nature when my mind is running or I am in a busy modality. Breathing, centering, bringing myself present... the field of existence opens up! ❤️
I love this retreat Julie. My spirituality has always been rather untethered, instinctive rather than intuitive, unguided and mentored. and so i've always considered it naive. i love the tarot reading and the prompts as guides and mentors helping me to anchor and reflect on things that feel ethereal and often out of reach, but drawing me nonetheless. thank you!!
Thanks Mare! If I may... I see untethered as wild, free, not playing by the rules, following ones own heartbeat, willing to step out of the norms and be one's true nature. Mare, I see all of this in you! You are like a wild mare! I love that about you! AND I appreciate what you have said here, letting yourself be guided by the prompts, seeing what it reveals...
I'm starting to work with a new oracle deck, and doing a daily spread. I'm not going to be online every day, so I'm popping in and leaving a snippet from each reading on the appropriate day.
For inspiration, these messages from my Guides came through:
Be True to Myself
When I'm swimming in deep Emotional waters, I become a Mermaid
Winter is the season to be Still and listen to the Soft Inner Voice
Oh Victoria I love these! Especially, "in deep Emotional waters, I become a Mermaid." Yes being proficient in navigating these waters of our feelings is paramount! Being true to ourselves is the foundation to inspiration. Love these beautiful messages from you guides. BTW, What Oracle deck are you using?
Hmmm inspiration. To me, inspiration feels like excitement blooming within my heart coupled with passion and pleasure. When feeling into how to let inspiration flow more in my life, I realize it is to act on the inspiration I already have. For me, it isn’t a lack of inspiration, but a lack of action. I get the idea, the spark of creativity, but I let it flicker out. I think it rubs up against inner beliefs of unworthiness and fears of failure. That’s something I’ve been consciously working on, and this post was a beautiful reminder that to keep the flow of inspiration, I need to “empty out” in the form of creative action, in order to be filled again with the excitement and pleasure of inspiration. Thank you Julie 🙏✨
Thanks Rhianna, I appreciate your contemplation here. How both action and emptying out is needed. Taking action on inspiration gives it more space to grow. As does emptying out of beliefs in unworthiness makes room for inspiration to arise. Shame and unworthiness, that is the one that gets me too.
Julie this is beautiful. From the recording of your beautiful and calming voice to the deep and meaningful insights and thought provoking questions. Thank you so much! I look forward to each day and the growth it will bring!!

I'm loving this already. What thoughtful questions.
I'm feeling inspired. And conscious of listening to the whispers of my heart.
Ahhh Yes the whispers of the heart. Yes, listen... and if you feel like sharing, I would love to read about what you hear.
oh just about ideas for substack and more heart centered things :)
Yes I am always intrigued and drawn to writings that come from the heart.
This is so beautiful! I love the journal questions. Thank You!
Your welcome, may they help to bring insight and deeper understanding.
Thank you so much for reminding me to slow down. To notice. To feel deeply what is for me. Appreciate this. Appreciate you. ❤️

Wonderful advice re: Knight of Swords. I’ll be on the lookout today for “quiet signs” as I go out shopping with my Mom and son. 🙏❄️🕯️
Yes, I loved the Frost card, with that invitation. So much can be seen in what we might be taking for granted. Would love to hear what you find!

It's called the Medicine Woman oracle deck.
Oh, I have been eyeing that deck!
