This is wonderful, Julie! The advice to slow down is so important and you've taken the extra step here of offering actual ways to do that. I so appreciate that part! "...allowing myself to investigate this precious moment." Stop doing and be curious. That's the perfect way into presence! Thank you so much for this. ❤️

Thanks Jenna! I find that wonder and curiosity go a long way! They open doors to seeing life, a situation, this moment with new eyes. In this way, fresh perspectives are born. When I can do this with challenges, it helps make them not feel so constricting, like life is closing in. With more space new information becomes possible. Easier to find contentment with what is transpiring.

Stunning, my friend. A profound reminder to be quiet and still, to invite the present moment to come in and to feel ALIVE by being HERE NOW.

We are living in such a fast paced life. Our childhood, our parents/grandparents childhood was so different...and yet there was so much more appreciation for everything. I feel that in this fast paced life we forget to appreciate...and yet this is the way to SLOW DOWN and to be in the moment.

Thank you. x

Thanks Sam. And yes, appreciate. So much power in this word when it is applied. As I feel into this, there is a cherishing and a gratitude. Both which need a willingness to slow down. With all the many knee-jerk reactions in the world, there is a missing out on what is beneath it all. There is much life to treasure and to be thankful for! Love to you Sam!

Thanks Chuck - I LOVE these quotes. Both pointing to the "rests". These sacred pauses that provide the background for the music to happen!

I find it so interesting Julie that these messages are so consistent, yet, I still find myself resistant in the face of 'what would they think' whilst I apparently languish doing nothing. It is not my own silence that I fear, rather the judgement of a society that has conditioned us to be on the move. I am ready, oh so ready to embrace a new movement that rests, sighs, is still and simple because that is exactly what we need.

Yes I understand and feel you deeply. I really get it. For me, I have a deep seeded need for approval. I learned to people please, enable and fawn at an early age. After years of doing this, turning it around has not been easy. Probably the hardest trial in my life. Yet letting go of this persecution consciousness has been a saving grace. Its not done by any means, its ongoing. Yet I have gotten to the point where the pain of not being me and simply resting into presence is stronger than the pull towards compliance. YES it is "exactly what we need."

This is so familiar Julie, I think I carry that same pattern and it does feel like turning round an oil tanker, doesn’t it? 😂 onwards we go xx

I feel like you so often write about things I've been thinking about lately or am needing to hear. I've been thinking a lot about decluttering and finding ways to feel more grounded and in the moment, and I really do think it's revolutionary to just slow down. At the beginning of the year, I read "How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell, and this post reminds me of her book. If you haven't read it already, I definitely recommend it.

I agree. And it is ironic that in our current times slowing down is revolutionary when it seems so simple and natural! I guess it is more about relearning what are innate systems already know. Thanks A. for recommending the book. I have not heard of this and will check it out!
